Infogrames sees sales shoot up

French game publisher Infogrames reported increased sales and a smaller loss for its fourth quarter and the 2002 fiscal year. Revenue was $419 million for the year, compared with $291.4 million in 2001, and $129.6 million for the quarter, compared with 63.9 million for the same period a year ago.

The company, which publishes the PlayStation2 driving game "Stuntman," recorded a net loss of $10.9 million, or 16 cents a share, for the year, compared with a loss of $60.7 million, or $1.07 per share, in 2001. For the quarter, the loss totaled $700,000, compared with $23 million a year ago. "Looking ahead, our first priority will be to improve profitability," CEO Bruno Bonnell said in a statement. "To that end, we will remain vigilant in scheduling our slate of releases to maximize the sales potential of each title throughout the year."
