Remember those awful iTrip FM transmitters for iPods that everyone had in their cars in the early 2000s?
Well, the company behind them, Griffin Technology, is still around making cases, battery chargers, cables and other accessories for iOS devices sold in Apple Stores and other electronic resellers around the world.
Today Griffin announced it's the latest company being acquired by Incipio Group (for an undisclosed amount of money) in its land-grab of mobile accessory brands.
"This is an exciting and pivotal moment for the Griffin brand," said Paul Griffin, founder and CEO of Griffin, in a statement. "Partnering with Incipio Group provides Griffin with a strong support system and improved capabilities to continue developing accessories that people love and use every day."
Incipio is based out of Orange County in California, but plans to keep Griffin's global manufacturing headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.
