A new company is helping you preserve your children's drawings forever by turning them into 3D-printed statuettes.

There's artist Dave DeVries, who turns children's drawings into really quite horrifying works of realistic art. Then there's Child's Own Studio, which makes very sturdy and true-to-the-original stuffed toys out of children's drawings.

Now there's Crayon Creatures — making 3D-printed "sandstone" keepsake sculptures out of your child's masterpieces.

Creator Bernat Cuni uses 3D design software to inflate the drawing and create a 3D blueprint, which is then printed in full colour by Shapeways. Ironically, the finished product is not suitable for children to play with — but it will make a lovely gift for grandparents.

Pricing isn't listed on the site, but you can drop Cuni a line on the Crayon Creatures website for a quote.
