iHeart streaming radio adds NPR

Over 260 National Public Radio stations are seeking more online listeners by joining iHeartRadio, the streaming arm of the country's biggest radio company.

iHeartRadio is adding National Public Radio to its streaming slate and sharing some of its online ad real estate.

The streaming arm of iHeartMedia, the country's biggest radio company, sealed a deal for more than 260 NPR member stations to add their live news and talk programming, the company said Thursday. iHeartRadio has 85 million registered users.

The NPR stations that join iHeartRadio can pick ads for half of the digital banner space on their individual iHeartRadio landing pages, which they can use to solicit donations.
