Identification companies finish merger

Bioscrypt, a company that builds software and hardware for identifying people based on physical characteristics such as fingerprints, has completed its acquisition of Biometric Identification, the company said. Bioscrypt, based in Toronto, Canada, changed its name from Mytec Technologies earlier this month. Biometric Identification, a private company acquired in a deal valued at about $25 million, also sells fingerprint identification technology. Biometric had revenue of about $4 million in 2000; Bioscript had $18 million for the same period.
