Today is a glorious day, and I'm not talking about all that iPad nonsense. The real news for the Android faithful, and particularly Samsung Nexus S users, is that Ice Cream Sandwich may arrive in just a few short weeks.

According to tech blog Engadget, sources close to the outlet have confirmed the Samsung Nexus S and Nexus S 4G are set to receive Android 4.0 potentially as soon as April. Whether ICS will actually come to these phones has been a saga for sure, with Samsung waffling back and forth on the issue.

Now it appears that all the creamy dessert dreams may come true for what was once Google's Gingerbread flagship handset. Engadget cites the T-Mobile version of the Nexus S and the Nexus S 4G on Sprint as the lucky winners. No word yet if the AT&T variation of the Nexus S will scoop up fresh software either. Even so, it all sounds good but as they say, seeing is believing.
