iBook G4 screen spots appearing?

After weeks of covering the PowerBook G4 15" (FireWire 800) white screen spot issue, Apple finally appears to be shipping replacement screens that not only do not exhibit the problem, but also seem to have a more rigid construction [see our PowerBook G4 15" (FireWire 800) Special Report].

However, MacFixIt reader Adam Christianson now reports that a similar phenomenon is cropping up on his new 14" iBook G4:

"I just noticed two spots on my new 14" G4 iBook. The iBook is about 3 weeks old and came directly from Apple. The two spots are about 1 1/2" above the bottom of the screen. One on the left and one on the right. The one on the left is about 2 1/2" in and the one on the right is about 1" in. If you close the screen the spots line up approximately with the F keys."
