IBM sets up servers for ticket seller

Big Blue plans to announce on Wednesday that it's closed a deal with online ticketing technology provider Paciolan to outfit its ticketing center with eServer p650 systems. The systems, the number of which has not been disclosed, will increase the speed of Paciolan's service to 100,000 transactions per hour, a company representative said.

Paciolan processes nearly 25 percent of the United States' ticket transactions, according to the company. Clients include professional sports teams, theaters and college athletics. The IBM servers will run the high-end Unix operating system AIX.
