IBM, Reuters Team Up on Net News Ticker

IBM has unveiled a new site that gives users access to updated, hourly news from Reuters called infoMarket.

IBM has announced a free Internet site that gives users access to news from Reuters.

The service, called infoMarket, functions as a news ticker that runs headlines along the bottom of the user's computer screen. Users can stop the ticker at any headline and access the full text of the story.

The stories in the Reuters report cover U.S., international, business, sports, and entertainment news, and are updated hourly. IBM officials say that they plan to add other services that will include financial and industry-specific reports.

The infoMarket software can be downloaded at IBM's Web site. Currently, the service works only with Windows-based Web browsers, but company officials say Macintosh and OS/2 versions are planned.
