IBM has established a design center in Bangalore, India, that will effectively assist its regional customers to create products built around Big Blue's components, chips and intellectual property. The company's engineering and technology services division essentially serves as way to proliferate the company's technology and to derive extra revenue from internal research projects. Its customers include chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices. The group already has design centers in the United States, Germany and Japan.
