IBM names Rhodin as Lotus GM

Formerly vp of development at Lotus, Rhodin will succeed Ambui Goyal and oversee Lotus products such as Notes and Domino. Goyal will head IBM's information management division.

Michael Rhodin will succeed Ambuj Goyal as the general manager of IBM's Lotus division, a company spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Rhodin, who was vice president of development at the division, will have responsibility for IBM's Lotus-branded products, such as Notes and Domino, as well as IBM's portal and Workplace businesses. Before coming to Lotus, Rhodin worked in IBM's pervasive computing group from 1999 to 2003. In a shake-up of IBM's managers revealed on Tuesday, Goyal was named the head of IBM's information management division, which includes its DB2 database and content management software. Goyal is replacing 31-year IBM veteran Janet Perna, who is retiring.
