IBM has decided to make its AS/400 mini-computers Internet-friendly.

The company plans to configure AS/400 systems so that they provide easy online access and can act as Web servers, according to Reuters news service.

With this in mind, IBM reportedly will introduce Internet Connection, software that converts the AS/400 into a Web server and lets customers provide online access to their current applications without rewriting them.
