IBM axes Australian workers

IBM Global Services Australia, an outsourcing division of the computer giant, has cut 64 jobs from its data-processing units in Sydney and Melbourne, leading to a mass walkout of 150 workers. The data-processing centers managed customer databases and emergency service for Australian telecommunications giant Telstra. IBM said the job cuts are part of the company's infrastructure consolidation in its command centers.
