IBM adds security to Web services toolkit

IBM has added new security features to its toolkit for building Web services. A new Web services specification called WS-Security is included in Big Blue's kit for software developers. WS-Security, a specification that IBM, Microsoft and VeriSign jointly created this week, encrypts information and ensures that the data passed between companies remain confidential. The new version of IBM's Web Services Toolkit is available for a free download at IBM's AlphaWorks developer Web site.
