Smartphone maker i-mate has announced two high-speed Windows Mobile handsets to be released exclusively on Telstra's Next G Network.
The i-mate Ultimate 8502 and 9502 will be released by Telstra in early March and will feature 7.2Mbps HSDPA downloads and 1.9Mbps uplink speeds, making the devices Australia's first commercially released HSUPA smartphone handsets.
Similar to the recently released Ultimateand , the newer handsets will also feature video-out for connecting the devices to TVs and digital projectors.
This announcement follows closely on from Telstra's announcement to improve the speed of its Next G Network from a theoretical maximum of 14.4Mbps to 21Mbps by the end of 2008.
Recommended retail pricing for the Ultimate 8502 is AU$999 and the Ultimate 9502 is expected to sell for AU$1,099.
