Video-streaming service Hulu Plus announced Thursday that members can use their Hulu app to turn their mobile devices into remote controls for top gaming consoles.

The videocasting feature lets users cast any actions in their Hulu Plus app to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles. The feature, which Hulu Plus already had available for media-streaming stick Chromecast, works for both Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.

Videocasting allows viewers to browse, select and play videos within the app, which is usually easier to navigate compared to a smart TV or media-streaming device remote.

Hulu said the feature will also land on smart TVs, Blu-ray players and other devices soon.

Both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 already have companion apps that allow people to use their mobile devices as remotes for the consoles, but the Hulu app focuses on video streaming specifically.
