HP to use Gnome interface
Hewlett-Packard said it will use the Ximian version of the Gnome user interface for its Unix computers. The Gnome interface was spawned by Linux but also has been embraced by Sun Microsystems for its Solaris version of Unix. HP also is a member of the competing KDE League, which backs a different user interface. Ximian is a company founded by Gnome leader Miguel de Icaza, among others.
