Hewlett-Packard said Friday it has settled a patent infringement case with Teco Information Systems Europe over thermal inkjet printer cartridges used in HP's printers. Teco is the European distributor for inkjet cartridges for International United Technology, which makes inkjet cartridges offered as a replacement for HP printers, HP said. HP has separate pending litigation against IUT for patent infringement in Germany and France.
According to HP, Teco Europe has agreed to stop importing, supplying or otherwise offering these or similar IUT inkjet cartridges. Teco Europe has also agreed to pay compensation to HP to cover past sales and legal costs, HP said in a statement.
