Dumas Chin will vacate the country general manager post "very soon," the sources said.
An HP representative confirmed the move. "Tan Choon Seng, who also leads the Southeast Asian business, has assumed the role of managing director for Singapore," the representative said.
In addition, the representative said, Leong Say Haur will have full profit-and-loss responsibility for the enterprise systems group in Singapore.
The realignment of executives was mainly due to HP combining its Singapore and Southeast Asian enterprise systems groups, the representative said.
Chin will now head industry verticals and corporate account sales and the pre-sales portfolios for Southeast Asia, positions previously held by Leong.
Prior to the merger of HP and Compaq Computer, Chin served as general manager for the HP's business customer sales division in Singapore.
Chin has 15 years of marketing, sales and operations management experience in the IT industry, having held senior management positions in IBM and Sun Microsystems.
