Hewlett-Packard on Tuesday said it has appointed Nor Rae Spohn to senior vice president of its LaserJet printing division. Spohn, 49, has worked at HP for 26 years; previously, she was general manager of the Color LaserJet group, and before that, she led the Personal LaserJet printing group. Boise, Idaho-based Spohn, who serves on the state's Governor's Science & Technology Advisory Council, is now "responsible for continuing HP's worldwide leadership in laser printing through customer focus and innovation," HP said.

While printers aren't typically thought of as the most rapidly changing devices out there, it's still an evolving industry. Last year, HP beefed up its LaserJet line to reduce the cost of its machines. And in February, the LaserJet line made a progressive move when HP opted to downsize the packaging for its toner cartridges in addition to those for inkjet printers.
