Express yourself with a customised notebook design

As part of its drive to "make computers personal again", HP has teamed with MTV to promote a notebook PC design competition. Called "Take Action, Make Art", contestants are asked to create a graphic design for a notebook that relates to any subject they are passionate about -- whether it be fashion, music, the environment or world peace.

The winning design will be turned into a special edition of a 14-inch HP Pavilion notebook to be released in March 2008. Also, the winner will be invited to attend the MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich this November, as well as travelling to Tokyo and Houston to be involved with HP's notebook design and development processes.

Four regional winners from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States will also win an HP notebook "skinned" with their design, and will have their entries made available to consumers around the world as adhesive notebook skins. Other designer skins can be viewed and purchased on www.hp.skinit.com.

If you don't want to submit an entry, you can still enter the sweepstakes for an HP Pavilion dv2000 Entertainment Series notebook by logging on to the competition site and voting for your favourite design.

The competition is open until October 17, 2007. Further information about the promotion, including how to submit entries and vote, can be found at www.mtv-tama.com.
