HP adds 60-day Symantec protection to PC lineup

Businesses can choose to renew the Norton services for their employees' notebooks, desktops and tablets, PC maker says.

Antivirus software from Symantec will be offered in business computers sold by Hewlett-Packard, the companies announced Wednesday. Symantec's Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security AntiSpyware Edition will be bundled with HP's commercial notebooks, desktops and tablet PCs. After a free 60-day protection period, users can renew the service.

"Threats such as worms and Trojan horses and security risks such as spyware put business PC users in jeopardy of a variety of dangers, from lost productivity to confidential information theft," Matthew Moynahan, vice president of consumer products at Symantec, said in a statement.
