When leaving a comment on an Instagram photo, especially one with a lot of comments, it can be difficult to ensure that your comment stands out in the crowd. It seems a lot of Instagram users think the best way to gain followers is to leave comments on popular photos. I've always said I'll know I've made it on Instagram when one of my photos contains countless comments full of nothing but Emoji and #teamfollowback tags.

Thanks to a post on Tags For Likes, you can emphasize your point or comment by using a bold font on Instagram. Here's what you'll need to do:

  • On your iPhone or Android device, you'll need to add the Thai keyboard to your active keyboards. For the iPhone you can go into Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard and then enable the Thai keyboard.

On Android, depending on your OS version, you can add the Thai keyboard under Settings > Language & Input. Make sure you don't turn off your English keyboard, just activate Thai in addition to English in both instances.

  • Launch Instagram, begin to leave a comment by typing an asterisks (*), then switch to the Thai keyboard by tapping on the Globe icon next to the space bar.

  • Find the ' key and tap on it. Now, anything you type after the *' combo will then be visible in bold text, as you can see below.

There is one big catch, however. The bold comments are only visible on iOS, not Android. On an Android device the comments will appear as plain text with a couple of funny characters before them. Same goes for viewing your Instagram photos on the new Web profiles; bold text just doesn't show up. Below is an example of what the comments look like on an Android device.

As you can see, the characters are visible and look a little out of place. But if you're an iOS user or leaving a comment on a photo of someone you know uses iOS, bold comments will stand out.
