How Halo 5 limited collector's edition owners can exchange digital copy for a physical disc
Here's a full set of instructions for how to complete the process.
Microsoft has now published a complete set of instructions for how people who own the $250 Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector's Edition and want to exchange their digital copy for a physical disc can do so. To take advantage of the offer, you'll need to act quickly, as it's available for a short window of time, running October 20 (the day the LCE is released) through November 1.
Exchange Instructions:
- Open the Contact Us page.
- Select "Chat with Microsoft Support" to chat with a support agent.
- Once you're connected, inform them that you want to exchange your unredeemed digital code for Halo 5: Guardians for a physical disc.
- You'll need to provide the agent with the following information:
- Your Xbox gamertag
- Your email address
- The token's 25-character code
- Your address for shipment
The $250 Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector's Edition is the most expensive premium version of the game, and it's also the only one not to come with a physical disc. Some fans were not happy about this and voiced their concerns directly to 343 Industries at Comic-Con in July. The exchange program solution was announced just a week later.
For its part, 343 said it included a digital copy of Halo 5 with the LCE so that players could pre-load the game and play the second the game unlocks on launch day, October 27, exclusively for Xbox One. The other premium bundle, the $100 Limited Edition, comes with a physical disc.
In other Halo 5 news, you can now listen to the game's title song and check out some newly re-designed Covenant vehicles. In addition, Microsoft has teased that Halo 5's story events will change the Halo universe forever. On top of that, Microsoft has confirmed that work has begun on Halo 6.
