Honda to bring fuel-cell cars to market in 2008?

The rumor mill and attribution chain is abuzz this morning with reports about reports that a newspaper in Japan is reporting that Honda is intending to bring its fuel-cell cars to market in Japan and the United States in 2008. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun newspaper article, which neglects to give sources and is as yet unverified, suggests that the fuel-cell car will be based on Honda's FCX concept vehicle, and that it will have a range of 570 kilometers (350 miles) per tank of hydrogen. The news (if it is indeed news) follows the announcement this month by General Motors that it is to launch a fleet of road-going Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell cars in September 2007.
