@Home's losses narrowing

The high-speed Net access company posts a 50 percent increase in revenue from the previous quarter.

@Home today posted a narrower loss from the like quarter a year ago and a 50 percent increase in revenue from the previous quarter.

The firm also said its high-speed Net access subscriber base grew to 210,000 customers.

The company said its net loss for the third quarter was about $9.7 million or 8 cents per share, compared to a net loss of $11.9 million or 11 cents per share for the like quarter a year ago. Its loss for the third quarter was right in line with analysts' expectations, according to First Call.

Quarterly revenue rose to $13.8 million from $1.9 million a year ago.

@Home said its subscriber base has more than quadrupled since the beginning of the year. The company added 13 markets during the quarter, bringing the total to 44 in the United States and Canada. The penetration rate for @Home now stands at 2.1 percent.

@Home's capital expenditures in the third quarter totaled $6.6 million.
