Hisense brings 7-inch tablet to Australia

Best known for home appliances and TVs, the Chinese manufacturer has brought its first tablet offering to Australia.

Looking to move in to the ever-growing small-size tablet space, Hisense will be bringing its Sero 7 Pro tablet to Australian retailers.

The 7-inch tablet has a 1280x800 IPS display, a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, a microSD slot and a 5MP rear camera.

The Sero also includes a mini-HDMI port, near-field communications (NFC), Bluetooth 3.0 and, of course, a 2MP front-facing camera. Hisense will be including remote-control software on the tablet, so Hisense TV owners can use the Sero in conjunction with their set.

We've contacted Hisense and are waiting for confirmation on local pricing, but in the US, the Pro retails for US$149. Hisense also has the Sero 7 LT in the US — a lower-spec'd US$99 budget version of the Pro. It's unknown whether Hisense has any plans to launch a similar model in Australia.
