HHGregg to customers: Stay home on Thanksgiving!

The midwest-based appliance and electronics chain HHGregg says that you should stay home with your family on Thanksgiving -- they are.

There will be more turkey and less work for HHGregg employees this year!

HHGregg is the latest retailer to announce that its brick-and-mortar stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

In a trend we saw gain traction in 2015, the Indiana-based chain, which has 220 stores across 19 states, is one of the first retailers to announce plans to not be open on Thanksgiving this year.

"It's important to us that our associates are able to be home with their families on Thanksgiving, and we are encouraging our customers to do the same -- knowing great deals will be available online, on Black Friday and through the weekend," said Bob Riesbeck, President and CEO of HHGregg.

But, don't fret! If you need to buy a refrigerator or a smart scale while gobbling on some turkey, you can do so on their website or in person starting at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.
