Hexagon speakers take a different angle

At less than $20, don't expect much other than geometry.

Tech Culture

Given the recent popularity of an item about a 12-sided polygon speaker system, we're sensing a geometric trend in the making. But we also suspect that not everyone will be anxious to spend $2,500 to satisfy their angular inclinations, so we offer this alternative.

The "Microbon Hexagon Wooden Mini Stereo Speakers" bear a honeycomb shape with built-in amplifiers, according to Technabob. The tiny desktop speakers (3.86 x 3.35 x 2.24 inches) offer slightly less power than the 600-watt subwoofers of the "Dodecasub"--not to mention fewer sides. But at prices ranging from around $15 to $18, expectations should plummet accordingly.
