The latest patch for Heroes of the Storm is now available, and it brings with it a new character and the launch of the Lunar Festival event.
Li-Ming, HotS' version of the Diablo III Wizard, is now available in-game. As discussed previously, she's meant to be a higher skill-cap character; players are rewarded for being aggressive and securing kills with her, as her skill cooldowns immediately refresh when participating in a takedown.
The other major part of the patch is this year's Lunar Festival event. It brings with it some skins that have left the game, as well as some new ones we got a glimpse of recently. But more interesting are the new event quests it adds. From now until the day of the event (March 1), playing 25 games rewards players with a special Monkey Elder holiday portrait.
The second quest is a daily one. As long as someone on your team hasn't yet completed the quest for the day, there's a 50 percent chance of a Monkey Elder spawning at the start of a match. Catching it causes it to drop an envelope that grants 100 gold to anyone with the quest unfulfilled. You can do this every day, conceivably earning almost 3,000 gold over the course of the month.
Along with the new content, there are a number of balance and gameplay changes. These include adding a timer when someone is invulnerable or in stasis; towers, forts, and keeps all do 50 percent more damage to players; Nova has been reworked to make her more viable; Rehgar's talents have been changed; and Gall has seen changes to both some talents and his skills.
