As the Moto X, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and other flagship phones trickle out for the back-to-school season, the not-quite-so-latest and greatest models, like the HTC One, are getting made over and seeing their prices drop.
Perhaps the best deal going on a top-flight Android phone right now is the one Best Buy is offering on its exclusive blue edition of the HTC One on Verizon Wireless.
The cobalt take on the One is available from the retailer with a new two-year contract at 75 percent off the normal price of $199. That means that if you lock yourself down with Big Red for 24 months, you get one of the slickest blue phones around for $49.99. As an added bonus, the blue Verizon One comes with Android 4.3, rather than the standard 4.1 version that most other HTC One models ship with, including the blue One on Sprint (currently $99.99 on contract) and AT&T ($149.99 on contract).
CNET reported last week that an unlocked version of thewas on the way, but it looks like the carrier-subsidized versions beat it to retail shelves.
It's tough to say how insatiable the public is for a blue Android phone just yet, but if the early demand for the colorfulis any indication, it seems HTC may want to consider a yellow One as well.
