Hearthstone, the World of Warcraft-themed online card game, is making its longed-for debut on the iPad, and will soon be available to download everywhere.

The online-only card-wrassling game was previously only available on PC and Mac, and went into open beta back in January. The iPad version is already available to download if you're in Australia, Canada or New Zealand. "Pretty soon it'll be available everywhere," game-maker Blizzard says.

"The game is a natural fit for tablets," Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime is quoted as saying in the company press release. "We encourage everyone to check it out on their couch, in their backyard, in a coffee shop... or anywhere else they take their iPads."

You won't be able to stray too far with your iPad though, as Hearthstone will require an Internet connection to play. That's bad news for anyone who was dreaming of playing on an underground train, or from a secure, radio-wave-blocking tactical bunker.

Blizzard says it's also working on Android, iPhone and Windows tablet versions of Hearthstone.
