HBO Now comes to Xbox One

The cable network's standalone streaming service is now available for Microsoft's game console.

The cable network's streaming media service is on the move.

HBO's standalone streaming subscription service, HBO Now, has officially arrived on Xbox One, with the free HBO Now app available for download from Xbox Live.

HBO Now costs $14.99 a month and allows you to stream all of HBO's content. No cable or satellite TV package is required.

The expansion of the streaming service comes as HBO is offering a free weekend on viewing to coincide with the new season of "Game of Thrones," which starts Sunday night.
