Macabre haunted dolls on eBay will plague your nightmares

Get your paranormal fix one bid at a time with a selection of creepy, supposedly haunted dolls available on auction site eBay.

Don't give this viral Craiglist doll a Ouija board. Just don't.

Her name is Eve.

According to her eBay auction story, she's a vessel for the tortured soul of a murderous young woman.

She's also one of many allegedly haunted dolls available to buy on eBay.

Most of them are listed in the "Everything else > Metaphysical > Psychic, Paranormal > Other Psychic, Paranormal" category.

eBay doesn't seem to actually believe in the supernatural. Back in 2012, the auction site banned sales of spells, hexes and magic services.

Eve's seller, angelfirelite, has 100 percent positive feedback and stays on eBay's good side by including this all-caps disclaimer: "*ATTENTION SHOPPERS: NEW EBAY LAW HAS FORCED ME TO SAY THAT, POSSESSED, ATTACHED SPIRITS, ETC. AND THAT ANY EXPERIENCES THAT MAY OR MAY NOT COME FROM A PARANORMAL ITEM, ARE STRICTLY NOT GUARANTEED OR ACCEPTED BY THEM BY THEIR STANDARDS, SO I AM STRICTLY SELLING AN ANTIQUE DOLL ONLY! THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING..."

The most expensive haunted doll up on eBay at the moment is a dead-eyed relic described as "probably the most coveted doll in the world right now" because of a viral Craigslist post from earlier in 2016. The doll has a buy-it-now price of $9,000. Sorry, international ghost fans, it only ships to the US. The doll is being sold "for entertainment purposes only" but is described as "used, dirty and evil."

eBay didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on its policy on selling haunted dolls.

You don't have to spend a fortune to welcome a haunted doll into your loving arms. eBay seller zeezeer2015 specializes in bargain spiritual dolls, like this "bratty" and armless figurine named Krissie for just $2 (£1.65, AU$2.65).

Don't worry. Krissie probably won't run amok in your home. She's meant to be a vessel for positive energy despite her eerie appearance.

Haunted dolls -- thanks a lot for bringing these to my notice, Huffington Post -- will appeal to Halloween lovers and anybody who enjoys demonic home decor.

A look at the eBay feedback for these purportedly possessed toys shows that at least a few believers are buying into the dream. Not all buyers are happy. One anonymous eBay user posted this disappointed review: "I don't feel any Energy I tried doing evp or taunting the dolls and nothing."

EVP, in case you were wondering, refers to sounds captured on recordings that are interpreted as spirit voices. The initials stand for electronic voice phenomenon.

For the record, I don't believe in ghosts or possessed dolls.

That said, don't taunt your doll.
