Harvard prof named to Microsoft board

Microsoft has appointed Harvard Business School Professor James I. Cash to its board of directors. Cash, 53, has been a member of Harvard's faculty since 1976, taught numerous MBA courses and chaired the prestigious university's MBA program from 1992 to 1995. He has published books and articles on information-systems management and technology, and he also serves on the boards of several companies including General Electric, Knight-Ridder, Scientific-Atlanta and Winstar Communications.
