If you have a busy life, slow cooking is a great way to make meals without being tied to the cooktop, and there are some great deals out there at the moment. JCPenney is offering half-price deals on the Crock-Pot Cook & Carry for $29.99 and the Cooks 6-qt for $24.99. Sling a few veggies and some stock in there in the morning, and come home to a delicious stew.
The Breville Fast Slow Pro, now $50 off at Amazon
These slow cookers are simple, but if you want something a bit more flexible, we loved the tongue-twistingly named Breville Fast Slow Pro, which is now $199.96 ($50 off) at Amazon and at Sur La Table. This impressive piece of engineering is a pressure cooker as well as a slow cooker, so it can cook a big chunk of meat in under an hour. Fast and slow: a killer combination for the busy cook.

After I covered some low-cost light bulb deals last week, Cree let me know that it has a range of mail-in and instant rebate deals in place across the country. If you are in Baltimore, Boston or Kansas City you can get a Cree 60W Soft White A19 4-pack for a sweet $3.97. If you are in Chicago, Philadelphia or Seattle, the same pack can be yours for $7.97. Both of those are serious discounts on the typical $19.97 cost of this pack. These prices can vary, though, and not all retailers participate, so check with your local utility before you buy.

Looking to save some cash? Buying refurbished is a great way to get more for less, like the Dyson V6 Slim Cordless vacuum cleaner that Amazon has on sale for $219.99. That's $79 less than buying a similar new model, and you get all of the original accessories and a six-month warranty.
It sucked (in a good way) when we tested it in 2014, and it offers even more suck for your dollar now. If you have beasts in your house, Amazon also has a refurbished V6 Animal for $319, which includes tools for picking up pet hair from the couch and corners.
If refurbished isn't your thing, Home Depot has the similar-size Shark Rocket for $148.
