Netflix's upcoming "TrollHunters" series will feature a couple of familiar beasts.

Guillermo del Toro, the director of "Pacific Rim" and "Crimson Peak," announced initial casting for his family-friendly, animated series today. Kelsey Grammer and Ron Perlman will voice trolls, and Anton Yelchin -- Chekov from the Star Trek reboot -- will voice the human protagonist.

Grammer played Beast in "X-Men: The Last Stand." And del Toro will be familiar with Perlman's primal side since the two worked together on the "Hellboy" films, with Perlman playing the title character from the comics. Unlike "Hellboy," in "TrollHunters," Perlman will play the villain, with Grammer representing the good trolls.

This series will hit Netflix this December. And we'll see if del Toro can keep things family-friendly and convince us to binge watch.
