Part of the charm of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise is its retro edge, set to the music of Star-Lord's "Awesome Mix" cassette tape chock full of vintage hits. So it's the perfect series to fall into a time warp and be reborn as a 1980s sitcom, as imagined in the fake trailer above.
Footage of the film mixes with a corny laugh track (is there any other kind?), funky cartoonish captions and that background instrumental music you heard when Greg and Peter were fixing his lemon of a car on "The Brady Bunch." (Yes, that show was from the 1960s-'70s, but the music's about the same!)
Don't miss the introduction of Kurt Russell's Ego, whose big reveal comes with all the subtlety of Steve Urkel's shtick. And stay tuned to the very end to discover a tease of another '80s-flavored sitcom, "Thor Meets World."
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" (the real one) came out April 28 in the UK and will be released May 5 internationally.
