Groove to make connection with Casahl

The collaboration software maker plans to sign a deal to use Casahl's connector program in its tools.

Collaboration software maker Groove Networks plans to announce a deal next week with Casahl Technology. Through the deal, Groove aims to improve integration between its desktop collaboration software and back-end systems such as e-mail and packaged applications. Software maker Casahl has built a "connector" to Groove's tools for building front-end applications, which will make it easier for application developers to tap into corporate data, Groove said.

The Casahl ecKnowledge Groove connector is designed to work with Groove Virtual Office version 3.0 and is expected to be available in September. A beta, or test version, of the program is slated to launch the first week of August.
