Grisoft releases AVG for small businesses
Czech security firm tailors packages to SMEs by adding remote administration tool.
Grisoft, the firm behind the popular and free AVG antivirus product, has released a security suite for small businesses. The Czech company announced Tuesday that it had created AVG Small Business Server (SBS) Editions for its Internet security and antimalware packages, based on its Internet Security Network Edition 7.5.
The new edition covers both servers and individual workstations, together with a "unique" remote administration tool and free technical support. Prices start at $340 for the Internet security package, and $289 for the antimalware package, depending on the number of active computers on the network.
According to Larry Bridwell, Grisoft's vice president of global security strategies, the remote administration tool is particularly well-suited to small businesses, as many SMEs employ third parties for network administration and security tasks.
