Govt. offer advice to enterpreneurs

A new Web site sponsored by the government called the U.S. Business Advisor debuted this week to counsel entrepreneurs on how to start their own businesses.

Vice President Al Gore is promoting the service as part of a Clinton administration campaign to make the relationship between businesses and government more productive.

The service makes to easier to obtain guides and forms for obtaining government-backed loans and complying with regulations. "[It provides] one-stop access to federal agencies that regulate and assist businesses," said Vice President Gore.

The service will also host a library of information pertaining to business development, including a database of job vacancies advertised by the federal government, regulation guides from the IRS, and economic reports, journals, and news about starting a business.

A prototype of the service was demonstrated last summer at the White House Conference on Small Business.
