Google Play Music All Access offers a slightly different take on the music-streaming service model to competitors like Spotify and Rdio. On top of being able to stream songs and albums from Google's own catalogue like a regular streaming service, All Access merges this with up to 20,000 songs uploaded from your existing library.

Confusingly, the existing service that pulls in tracks from your library is simply called Google Music. It launched in Australia in April this year.

All Access also offers an ad-free internet radio service similar to Pandora, though it allows unlimited skips of songs that are not to your liking. There are curated playlists available that have been put together by Google's "music geeks".

A free 30-day trial for All Access is currently available for users who want to sign up at Google Play, with pricing shifting to AU$9.99 per month thereafter. Do be aware that if you sign up for the free trial, you will need to provide your credit card details through your Google Play account, and will be debited automatically after the trial expires, unless you cancel beforehand.

That AU$9.99 price is only valid until 31 August, rising to AU$11.99 afterwards.
