Bender is great. Bender is great. Hopefully he'll really be great in Wooga's upcoming game Futurama: Release the Drones.

Bender is back, baby. And he wants you to bite his shiny metal ass via your smartphone or tablet.

Berlin-based game developer Wooga announced a partnership with Fox Digital Entertainment Monday that will bring the popular sci-fi cartoon series Futurama back to life as a mobile game.

The game, called Futurama: Release the Drones, will take players on a journey with Fry, Bender, Leela and the rest of the Planet Express crew as they "fight a desperately imbalanced trade war against longtime shipping rival MomCo," the company announced in a blog post. Players will connect groups of delivery drones to solve puzzles on their mission to defeat MomCo.

Release the Drones will feature an original storyline co-written by Dave Grossman (writer of games The Wolf Among Us and Secret of Monkey Island); Game of Thrones: Ascent writer Jonathon Myers; and Patric M. Verrone, who wrote for the original "Futurama" TV series.

Wooga public-relations manager Greg Latham told CNET that Futurama: Release the Drones will be available for both iOS and Android, but was unable to share a release date at this time.

"Futurama" ran from 1999 to 2003 on Fox. After its cancellation, Comedy Central picked up the series in 2008, and cancelled it again in 2013. As a huge fan of the "Futurama" series, I hope the game comes out before Professor Farnsworth can say "Sweet Zombie Jesus."
