Last week Google revealed its next vision for the future of VR, the Daydream. But is all the hype actually hurting the virtual reality industry? Are we in danger of VR fatigue before it's really started? And why do eBay and Myer think people want to strap something called Shoptacles to their head?

Less confusing is the abolition of the proposed 'Three Strikes' series of graduated responses for Australian pirates. It looked on track to be an industry-run regulation, but many a slip 'twixt cup and lip, as the kids say.

Also looking slippery is Windows Phone, with a rapidly diminishing market share and layoffs throughout the entire division over at Microsoft. Now PayPal is removing support for its Windows app, along with Blackberry and Amazon Fire. Trust us, you don't want to be mentioned along with those two operating systems. So might the Lumia 650 be the last hurrah for Windows phone? Let's hope not.

Finally, Computex kicks off next week and Girt team are prepping for the Taiwan trip and what they're expecting to see as the focus for the venerable show.
