Get Wondershare Video Editor (Win) for free
This full-featured, full-version editing tool normally costs $50. Today only, it won't cost you dollar one.
So you've shot a bunch of great holiday video on your smartphone. Now you need to edit it all together into a polished tearjerker you can share with friends and family.
Just one problem: You don't have any video-editing software. (Sorry, Apple, but editing on an iPhone is not my idea of fun.) Sure, Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker is free, but also extremely limited. What you need is a commercial editing tool that doesn't cost a lot of dough.

Updates: First, the site is operating slowly due to heavy traffic. Second, make sure you follow all instructions, especially those on post-checkout page. You'll need to click through to a Wondershare page to claim your license code. Finally, do check your spam filter for that code, because that's where I found mine.
The program looks and operates like a lot of higher-end editors, most notably Pinnacle Studio (which has been my go-to tool for years). In one quadrant you have your clips; in another, your preview window. Along the bottom there's a timeline where you drag and drop clips, add transitions and music, apply special effects, and so on.
When you're done, you can export your movie in the format of your choice and/or share it via the usual methods (Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
CNET hasn't reviewed the program, but a handful of users rated it 4.5 stars out of 5 -- and that was, ostensibly, after paying for it.
To get this freebie, click through to the giveaway page, then click the Download It Now button. Keep in mind, though, that it's provided without promise of updates or technical support. Thankfully, it can be reinstalled at a later date (like if you switch to a new PC) so long as you retain your license code.
However, if you like the program, there's also the option of buying it for $9.99 and getting free lifetime updates and tech support -- but that offer also expires at midnight, so make your decision soon. I'd say if you have even a passing interest in video editing and want a robust toolset for a song, this is an excellent option.
