Get WinX iPhone iPad Video Converter for free

This handy utility, which can also convert videos to non-iDevice formats, normally sells for about $30. Get it free, no strings attached.

Digiarty Software

So, yeah, that 32GB flash drive I posted yesterday sold out pretty quickly -- just like I said it would. If you missed out, here's a decent consolation prize: Today, and again while supplies last, Newegg has the 64GB Team Group Color Turn flash drive for $27.99 shipped. That's after applying coupon code EMCNBNG24 at checkout. This one's purple.

Getting back to today's deal, videos come in all shapes and sizes (make that formats and sizes), and they're not always compatible with your mobile devices. To make them compatible, you need a video converter.

For a limited time, Digiarty Software is offering WinX iPhone iPad Video Converter for free. It regularly sells for $29.95. (Also available via that same link: MacX iPhone iPad Video Converter, which is the Mac version, natch.)

True to its name, this utility can convert a wide range of video formats -- MKV, AVCHD, AVI, M2TS, MP4, WMV, etc. -- to various iDevice-compatible formats.

Indeed, it comes with output presets for the iPhone, iPad, etc., but it's worth noting that those formats (and others it can do, like generic MOV and MP4) will work with most other mobile devices (i.e. Android tablets and phones, etc.).

To get the software, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: Click the Download button for either the Mac or Windows version, then make sure to click the download link near the bottom of the pop-up window. Do not click the big blue Free Download button, which is for a different product.

That pop-up window will also contain your activation code, which you'll need to paste into the program after installing it and running it for the first time. If you don't do this, you'll end up with a trial version. (Also, you must perform this activation no later than August 15, which is when the giveaway offer ends.)

The only caveats to this freebie are that it doesn't include tech support, nor does it entitle you to upgrades when they become available. The good news is that Digiarty tends to repeat these giveaways on a regular basis, so you should be able to keep up with the latest version.

Have a great weekend! Cheap it real, my friends.

Bonus deal: The Lego video games are awesome, every last one of them. Today only, Best Buy has Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 for $9.99 shipped (plus sales tax in most states). It's available for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS/3DS.
