Get ready for a 'Mystery Science Theater' streaming marathon

Football schmootball. Instead of watching NFL teams throw the pigskin around this Thanksgiving, why not watch a "Mystery Science Theater 3000" marathon with new intros by the series creator?

For many of us geeks growing up in the early '90s, Thanksgiving was a day for turkey, pumpkin pie and "Mystery Science Theater 3000" (MST3K) marathons on Comedy Central. After a successful reboot of the Turkey Day tradition in 2013, series creator Joel Hodgson has once again partnered with the Shout! Factory to bring an "MST3K" marathon to the online airwaves this Thanksgiving.

The marathon will feature six episodes handpicked by Hodgson himself, and he will film brand new introduction segments for each of the six films. While there aren't too many details on what we might see, Nerdist has learned that several special guests will make cameos in the new segments, so be on the lookout for your favorite MST3K characters throughout the day.

The series will begin at 9 a.m. PT on November 27, and will stream to both the Official MST3K YouTube channel and to www.MST3KTurkeyDay.com. So get ready to join Joel Hodgson, Mike Nelson, Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot for an epic 12-plus hour comedy-filled marathon.
