Get-It guards your fingers

When you've got a hot hard-boiled egg to deal with, your options are to pick it up with your hand and burn a few fingertips, or to try to get it on a spoon and watch it land on the floor.

We've all reached to pick something up, getting a handful of burned fingers for our trouble. The problem is that spoons, spatulas, and other food-handling devices just don't have the dexterity of the average human hand. We try to pick things up because it's just so much easier than fumbling around with whatever we're trying to move, and watching it wind up on the floor.

Get-It Finger Guard Broadway Panhandler

Broadway Panhandler has a great finger protector--the Get-It Finger Guard--that will allow you to skip the spoon and just pick up whatever it is you're after. Sure, it looks like the fortune tellers we used to fold back in grade school, but that's just part of its charm. It even comes in bright colors to bring us a little closer to that elementary school mindset.

The Get-It Finger Guard is made from silicone. It's flexible and heat resistant up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. If you're handling food hotter than 600 degrees, you might have other things to worry about. It's perfect for picking up hot pot handles, gripping baked potatoes, or grabbing hard-boiled eggs. And it's less than 10 bucks, even if you take shipping into account. Broadway Panhandler's site lists the blue (Mediterranean Blue) and green (Wasabi) versions as in stock, but there's a bit of a wait if you want the red (named Red, oddly enough) version.
