Looking for a TV for the den or bedroom? For many folks, a 24-inch LCD would seem to be the ideal size.
Today only, and while supplies last, Best Buy has the Westinghouse EW24T8FW 24-inch LCD HDTV for $139.99 shipped (plus sales tax). It's pretty rare to find a 24-inch monitor at that price, so this is definitely worth a look.
The reasonably slim EW24T8FW measures just 1.9 inches deep. It features a 23.6-inch, 60Hz LCD with a native resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels (aka 1080p) -- unnecessary at that size, but nice if you're planning to have this screen pull double duty as a monitor.
Beyond that, well, the specs are about what you'd "ex-spec" for an entry-level TV. It has two HDMI ports, component and composite inputs, and a "PC" input (most likely VGA, though it's not specified) for that aforementioned use-it-as-a-monitor option.
Also included: a remote! I know, it's like getting a car with wheels!
Most Best Buy customers gave the TV a solid rating, noting its good value and impressive picture quality for the price, but as per usual with LCD TVs, no one especially liked the sound. An inexpensive sound bar, or even an old pair of powered PC speakers, can make a huge difference.
If you'd rather not wait on shipping, you might be able to swing by your local Best Buy to grab this in person. For what it's worth, it wasn't long ago that I paid around $200 for a 24-inch HDTV for the bedroom. This is, well, less.
Bonus deal: If two HDMI inputs won't do the trick, Hong Kong-based BuyinCoins.com has a three-port HDMI switch for $3.92 shipped -- from Hong Kong! It might be worth spending another $10-$15 to get one with a remote or auto switching or both, or if you don't want to wait two to three weeks for it to arrive. What can I say: slow deal day!
