Get a 42-inch Sharp HDTV for $329.99

Finally, a sweet deal on a name-brand, non-refurbished TV. The only catch: it'll be about a week before you can pick it up from your local Best Buy.

Best Buy

I know I've posted a lot of TV deals of late, but, hey, they're a hot category right now. And who knows if the deals will be as good after this Sunday's big game?

For a limited time, and while supplies last, Best Buy has the Sharp LC42SV49U 42-inch LCD HDTV for $329.99, plus sales tax where applicable. You can opt for free site-to-store shipping, which, alas, takes 7-10 days, or pony up around $20 for shipping.

Two factors set this deal apart from some of the others I've shared recently. First, Sharp is a known brand, not some mystery company like Apex or Dynex. While it's true that most TVs are produced at the same handful of factories, there's something to be said for buying from a brand you recognize.

Second, this TV is new, not refurbished. That means it comes with a full one-year warranty--another potential source of comfort.

As for the LC42SV49U itself, it features a 42-inch 1080p screen, four HDMI inputs, a USB port (for plugging in, say, your digital camera), and all the other usual HDTV goodies.

Best of all, and I think this is key when buying any TV, the user reviews are extremely positive--not just on Best Buy's product page, but also at Sharp's own site.

In short, it's a winner--at least on paper. All you need is a place to put it.

Bonus deal: Here's a first: Amazon is selling refurbished Kindle Fire tablets for $179 shipped. That's $20 off the price of a new one, which would be aces if Amazon backed it with a one-year warranty (as Apple and Barnes & Noble do with their refurbs). Alas, the warranty here is unknown. If anyone is able to find out, share!
